โซนี่เปิดเผยว่าเกม Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 ที่พัฒนาโดยสตูดิโอ Imsomniac สามารถทำยอดขาย 2.5 ล้านชุดได้ใน 24 ชั่วโมงแรกที่วางขาย ถือเป็นเกมเปิดตัวที่มียอดขายสูงสุดของ PlayStation Studios ในเครือโซนี่เอง

สถิติเกมเปิดตัวสวยหรูเกมอื่นๆ ของโซนี่คือ God of War: Ragnarök 5.1 ล้านชุดใน 1 สัปดาห์แรก และ The Last of Us Part 2 ขายได้ 4 ล้านชุดใน 3 วันแรก ต้องรอดูกันว่า Spider-Man 2 จะทำยอดขายได้แค่ไหนใน 3 วันแรกที่วางขาย

Marvel's Spider-Man 2 ได้คะแนนรีวิวเฉลี่ย 91/100 ถือว่าประสบความสำเร็จอย่างมากในแง่เสียงวิจารณ์ ส่วนยอดขายก็มีสัญญาณเริ่มต้นที่ดีมาก สถิติยอดขายรวมของภาคแรกทำไว้ที่ 33 ล้านชุด
