หลังจาก Google I/O 2024 ปีที่แล้ว เทเวลาทั้งหมดให้กับข่าวสาร AI จนไม่มีประกาศใดๆ ของ Android บนเวทีหลักเลย ล่วงเลยมาจนมาถึงปีนี้ กูเกิลแก้ปัญหานี้ด้วยการจัดงานแยกมันซะเลย

งาน Android ของปีนี้จะใช้ชื่อว่า The Android Show: I/O Edition จัดวันที่ 13 พฤษภาคม 2025 หรือ 1 สัปดาห์ก่อนงานใหญ่ Google I/O 2025 วันที่ 20 พฤษภาคม โดยผู้นำเสนอหลักในงานคือ Sameer Samat ประธานฝ่าย Android Ecosystem ที่ขึ้นเวทีนำเสนอเรื่อง Android ในงาน Google I/O ปีหลังๆ

คำโปรยของกูเกิลเขียนไว้แบบกว้างๆ ว่าจะเป็นการประกาศข่าวสารที่น่าตื่นเต้นก่อนงาน Google I/O แต่ก็ยังมีบางส่วนที่เก็บไว้ประกาศในงาน Google I/O อีกที
