รู้จักบริษัท Astronomer ที่ซีอีโอเป็นข่าวในคอนเสิร์ต Coldplay ทำซอฟต์แวร์ Apache Airflow

จากเหตุการณ์ในคอนเสิร์ต Coldplay เมื่อวานนี้ที่เป็นไวรัลไปทั่วโลก เมื่อกล้องจับภาพคู่รักที่กอดกันระหว่างชมคอนเสิร์ต แล้วกลับกลายเป็น CEO และ Chief People Officer ที่ต่างฝ่ายต่างมีครอบครัวแล้ว

บริษัทที่ว่านี้คือ Astronomer เป็นบริษัทซอฟต์แวร์สัญชาติอเมริกัน มีผลิตภัณฑ์หลักคือ Astro ซึ่งพัฒนาต่อมาจาก Apache Airflow ซอฟต์แวร์โอเพนซอร์สด้าน data pipeline และ data workflow

ตัวซอฟต์แวร์ Apache Airflow เริ่มพัฒนาโดย Airbnb ในปี 2014 แล้วยกให้เป็นโครงการของ Apache Software Foundation ในปี 2019 ตัวซอฟต์แวร์ Airflow ถูกคลาวด์ยักษ์ใหญ่นำไปใช้งานต่อ เช่น Google Cloud Composer และ AWS Managed Workflows

บริษัท Astronomer ก่อตั้งโดย Ry Walker ซึ่งเคยดำรงตำแหน่งอดีตซีอีโอ แต่เขาลาออกจากบริษัทไปก่อนแล้ว (ตอนนี้ไปเปิดบริษัทใหม่ชื่อ Tembo) เขาออกแถลงการณ์ว่าไม่เกี่ยวอะไรกับเหตุการณ์ครั้งนี้ ส่วนผู้ก่อตั้งอีกคนคือ Pete DeJoy ปัจจุบันยังเป็น Chief Product Officer ตัวผลิตภัณฑ์ Astro เป็นการนำ Airflow มาปรับแต่งให้รันบน Kubernetes ได้

Andy Byron ซีอีโอคนปัจจุบันที่เป็นข่าว เข้ามารับตำแหน่งซีอีโอในภายหลัง ส่วน Kristin Cabot ที่เป็นข่าวด้วยกันมีตำแหน่งเป็น Chief People Officer

หลัง Astronomer เป็นข่าวดังไปทั่วโลก บอร์ดของบริษัทออกแถลงการณ์ว่าเริ่มสอบสวนเรื่องนี้อย่างเป็นทางการแล้ว พร้อมกับแถลงว่าบุคคลที่ปรากฏตัวในคอนเสิร์ตมีพนักงานของบริษัทเพียง 2 คน ส่วนผู้หญิงอีกคนที่อยู่ในเฟรมด้วยไม่ใช่พนักงานของบริษัทตามที่ข่าวลงในตอนแรก
