ข่าว Baldur's Gate 3 ชนะรางวัล BAFTA, เกมแรกที่คว้ารางวัลเกมยอดเยี่ยมครบ 5 สถาบันใหญ่

Baldur's Gate 3 คว้ารางวัล BAFTA Games Awards จากฝั่งอังกฤษอีก 5 รางวัล ได้แก่ เกมยอดเยี่ยม, เล่าเรื่องยอดเยี่ยม, เพลงประกอบยอดเยี่ยม, นักแสดงสมทบยอดเยี่ยม (Andrew Wincott ในบท Raphael) และเกมยอดนิยมจากผู้เล่น (Player's Choice)

BAFTA หรือ British Academy of Film and Television Arts เป็นสถาบันด้านภาพยนตร์และทีวีของอังกฤษ เทียบได้กับรางวัลออสการ์ของสหรัฐอเมริกา แต่ BAFTA ได้แตกแขนงมามอบรางวัลให้วิดีโอเกมมาตั้งแต่ปี 2004 (ครบรอบ 20 ปีพอดี) ถือเป็นรางวัลใหญ่ของวงการเกมฝั่งอังกฤษ

การที่ Baldur's Gate 3 คว้ารางวัลเกมยอดเยี่ยมอีกสถาบันคงไม่ใช่เรื่องน่าแปลกใจนัก แต่สิ่งที่เป็นประเด็นสำคัญคือ Baldur's Gate 3 กลายเป็นเกมแรกที่คว้ารางวัลเกมยอดเยี่ยมจากสถาบันใหญ่ๆ ครบ 5 รายการ ได้แก่

• Golden Joystick Awards - พฤศจิกายน 2023
• The Game Awards - ธันวาคม 2023
• D.I.C.E. Awards - กุมภาพันธ์ 2024
• Game Developer Choice Awards - มีนาคม 2024
• BAFTA Games Awards - เมษายน 2024

นับตั้งแต่รางวัล The Game Awards ถูกตั้งขึ้นมาในปี 2014 (มาแทน Spike Game Awards เดิม) ยังไม่เคยมีเกมไหนคว้ารางวัลเกมยอดเยี่ยมได้ครบ 5 สถาบัน ที่ใกล้เคียงที่สุดมี 3 เกมคือ

• The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild ได้ทุกรางวัลยกเว้น BAFTA (แพ้ What Remains of Edith Finch)
• God of War ภาครีบูตปี 2018 ได้ทุกรางวัลยกเว้น Golden Joystick Awards (แพ้ Fortnite)
• Elden Ring ได้ทุกรางวัลยกเว้น BAFTA (แพ้ Vampire Survivors)
