Tomonobu Itagaki ผู้กำกับเกมชื่อดังหัวหน้าคนแรกของ Team Ninja สตูดิโอสังกัดค่าย Tecmo ผู้สร้างแฟรนไชส์ Dead or Alive และผู้พลิกฟื้นแฟรนไชส์ Ninja Gaiden เสียชีวิตแล้วด้วยวัย 58 ปี

สาเหตุการตายของ Itagaki ยังไม่แน่ชัดนัก แต่เขาทิ้งข้อความสั่งลาหลังเสียชีวิตไว้บน Facebook บอกว่าเขาต่อสู้กับโรคร้ายบางอย่างมาสักระยะหนึ่งแล้ว สิ่งเดียวที่เขาเสียใจคือไม่สามารถออกผลงานใหม่มาให้แฟนๆ ได้อย่างที่ตั้งใจไว้

Itagaki เข้าทำงานกับ Tecmo ในปี 1992 และสร้างชื่อจากเกมต่อสู้ Dead or Alive ในปี 1996 จากนั้นรีบูตซีรีส์ Ninja Gaiden เกมยุค 80-90s ของ Tecmo ในปี 2004

หลังจากนั้นเขาลาออกจาก Tecmo ในปี 2008 ไปก่อตั้งบริษัทใหม่ชื่อ Valhalla Game Studios มีผลงานชื่อ Devil's Third บนเครื่อง Wii U เมื่อปี 2015 แต่ไม่ประสบความสำเร็จนัก บริษัทปิดตัวในปี 2021 แล้วเขาก่อตั้งบริษัทใหม่ชื่อ Itagaki Games ในปีเดียวกัน แต่ยังไม่ทันมีผลงานเกมใหม่ออกมา

ส่วน Team Ninja เดิมยังอยู่ต่อกับ Koei Tecmo (ที่เกิดจากการควบรวม Koei กับ Tecmo ในปี 2010) มาจนถึงปัจจุบัน
