Today we're announcing the availability of Release Candidate 2 of vBulletin 4.0 Publishing Suite and vBulletin 4.0 Forum. Our original plan was to release RC1 to the community today. However, since releasing Beta 5 and releasing RC1 on vBulletin.com on this past Monday, we have fixed more 250 bugs, including new bugs found in RC1. This could allow an attacker to carry out an action as a user or obtain access to a user's account. To resolve this issue, it has been necessary to release a patch level version of the active versions of vBulletin. The upgrade process is the same as previous patch level releases - simply download the patch from the Members Area, extract the files and upload to your webserver, overwriting the existing files. [SIZE=4]vBulletin 3.8.3 Although it's a little late according to the published release timetable, having been somewhat delayed by the effort being redirected toward preparing vBulletin 4.0 for its debut, vBulletin 3.8.3 is a maintenance version, rounding up all the bugs and issues fixed by the development team since the release of 3.8.2 at the end of March. Please accept our apologies for the delay in bringing you this potentially final version of vBulletin 3.x. Resources are now almost exclusively dedicated to vBulletin 4.0 and we thank you for your ongoing patience.
