news vBulletin 6.2.1 is available for Download

vBulletin 6.2.1 is now available for self-hosted (download) customers. vBulletin Cloud sites will be automatically upgraded over the upcoming weeks.

Private Message Blocking

Users can now block others from sending them private messages. This new setting can be changed on the Account tab of the User Settings page. Individuals can enter one or more users into the list to block them from sending private messages.

Backend Improvements

A number of database queries and PHP optimizations have been applied to the vBulletin Engine. These changes were made to remove redundant queries, reduce unnecessary queries, and generally improve performance on large datasets (e.g., 10,000 post topics). In addition, various classes were updated, and automated testing was added to more classes.

Bug Fixes

The following bug fixes were applied to the software:

  • Added the final breadcrumb on the conversation page.
  • Added the breadcrumb to the user profile page.
  • Removed the "Back to Profile" button on the Settings page.
  • Prevent Firefox from pre-fetching unused pages.
  • Birthdays no longer appear as two days due to time zone issues.
  • Resolved an issue where blank cache event records would trigger the creation of empty cache key records.
  • Added a fix to prevent the Sitemap XML from containing duplicate URLs.
